TOPIC - Save Kosciusko Plants

Visitors are welcome to arrive after 1.30 pm

$2 entry includes a ticket in the Plant Raffle and afternoon tea.  Native plant sales at some meetings.

There is nearly always an Australian native plant display & identification table. These are usually from plants flowering in members' gardens.

 

In Kosciusko National Park wild horses are recognised by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage as threats to at least nine plant species, including 2 orchids, as well as to sphagnum bogs.  Linda will give a brief introduction to these species and the mechanisms by which wild horses pose a threat to them. She will describe the protest walk that was held late last year and the public reactions to it.  Linda will give an update on whether there has been any action by the NSW Govermnent to reduce damage caused by feral animals.
